Oman Dermatology Society Mission & Vision

Oman Dermatology Society was initiated to address dermatological resources in healthcare services for the diagnosis and management of common skin diseases in Oman. The society was conceptualized to gather all dermatologists to share and discuss the clinical practice, knowledge, and research relevant to medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology and other related disciplines. The Society aims to cater to the academic needs of all the dermatologists in the Ministry of Health, Government, and private sectors. Members are encouraged to conduct research and studies inclined in the field of specialization and to participate in attendance and active presentation of scientific talks during national and international events to help raise the concerns and discuss challenges we as dermatologists face in the field. ODS also aims to improve health care and patient’s safety and awareness by conducting community awareness events to reach the public and get closer to their concerns and address their needs.

Message from the ODS President

Oman Dermatology society (ODS) is a non-profit medical society that was established in 2006 in collaboration with the main tertiary care center of Al Nahdha Hospital where the dermatology department was first established in 1972.
ODS is affiliated to Oman Medical Association and is under the patronage of Ministry of Social Development.
Over the years, we dedicate our motive and energy trying to accomplish the main goal of the society which is bringing all dermatologists from government and private sector in Oman together to increase their awareness and provide them with a platform for educational improvement and discussion of some common challenges and concerns. Many educational and public awareness activities are being prepared with care and presented to the target audience to help raise the level of the knowledge about different medical and aesthetic dermatology topics and to discuss the updates and challenges in the field on the national and international levels.
The ODS MISSION is accomplished through reinforcing the importance of Academic Education, Research, Advocacy and Outreach for patients in the medical set up as well as in the community.
